Happy Holidays!

Hello!

The sillies got me, so I made a little something, then I thought it might be fun to script it up a little, so I did that too, then I thought I wonder if anyone else might enjoy this, so I decided to make it available to all my lovely Evelock customers as a little Holiday Gift.

What is it? Well, have a look:

A cheeky little Santa for you to spank! You get two versions in the green box. One on a wall, and one without a wall, so you can put him maybe over a chair back, or a table, or a hedge, or anywhere else that seems like a good idea to you.

Just pop over to the Studio and click on the green box to get your own, FREE, copy. Don't forget to check out the other free gifts and the Lucky Boards too!

While you're there, you might want to rest in the special holiday editions of the Tempo Armchair, each one is a mere 100L$, so might make a great gift for a holiday loving friend.

I think that's all for now, I hope all your lives are treating you well,

Bright Blessings,

Eve :)

A Dainty Rant about Entitlement...

Hey There!

Every now and then I get to thinking about general trends in human behaviour, and occasionally a specific incident will prompt me to talk about it. This time, it's pretty simple stuff, communication and entitlement, particularly within a virtual environment, such as our wonderful Second Life.

In my mind, IMs in Second Life are exactly the same as phone calls. I am always happy to hear from friends, from work colleagues, from customers who need some assistance. But, I *never* want to buy double glazing or life insurance or a good time... sadly, a lot of folks in Second Life seem to think that just because you can see somebody's name tag that gives them the right to barge right in unannounced and offload THEIR agenda. It doesn't. End of story.

Let's pretend you see somebody and you think their outfit is amazing and you'd like to compliment them on it.  Now, in real life, you wouldn't yell across the room at them, would you? No, of course not, you're far too sensible. When was the last time you heard somebody yelling down the freezer aisle of the supermarket "Oi! Thingy! You in the red dress! Love the shoes, where did you get them?!" Never, that's when.

So, you wouldn't yell across the room at a complete stranger. Good, we agree on that. Would you phone them up out of the blue (assuming you could find their number in the first place)? No, of course not, that's ridiculous. Imagine how that conversation would go.

"Hello?"
"Hi, you don't know me but I like your shoes."
*click*

Seriously.

If you were indeed so intent on delivering your doubtless well meaning compliment, you would get close enough to the person to talk normally without invading their personal space and say "Great shoes", with a smile, and wait to see what happens next.

And yet. Every. Single. Day. I get phonecalls (IMs) out of the blue from people I have never met. Let me be clear here, approach makes a huge difference.

"Hi, sorry to IM you out of the blue, but I really love your shoes, do you mind me asking where you got them?" is far more likely to get a pleasant response from me than...

"NICE outfit babe"

What happens next is where it gets interesting. I state clearly in my profile that I am happy to hear from folks in IM about business matters (either Velvet Thorn or Evelock related) but for anything else to use local. And further that unsolicited IMs will be ignored without exception.

People don't always read profiles, I understand that. But, if I IM someone and don't get a response I check their profile to see if there's maybe a clue in there. Lots of builders are afk huge amounts of the time for example, no big deal. I'm starting to think I might be alone in checking profiles, but hey ho.

So let's talk about entitlement. And let's be blunt about it.

Nobody, not one single person on the surface of the planet has any entitlement to even a second of my attention without express and direct invitation, or a damn good and compelling reason (spoiler alert: you needing to have me be your walking wank mag is not a compelling reason, nor a good one). And that goes double for a virtual world, where I tend to come to ESCAPE being bothered by people.

If I'm about to be run over and yelling at me might stop it, go ahead and shout, I will appreciate it. If I'm sitting quietly on my own, or wandering around some place on my own (brace yourselves, this may come as a shock)... this is NOT an invitation to talk to me, to project your nasty, selfish little fantasies onto me, to invade my personal space and expect me to be flattered by your attention, to suggest that I might want to fuck you or dance with you or "just have a friendly drink" with you.

Just NO. Fuck off. Fuck right off. And when you're done fucking off, fuck right off again, twice as far. And no, that is not a challenge. I am not waiting for the right person to complete me. I am not secretly hoping that someone will shake me out of my bad mood and make me the woman I "should" be. I am complete and content exactly as I am, thank you, I only need people to stop being idiotic, rude, entitled louts in my direction for my life to be perfect.

If you really can't let the moment pass without doing something, smile, or say hi... but do not make the mistake of *expecting* a response. And, if you do get a response, most likely  an awkward half-smile, that (again, brace yourselves) is NOT an invitation to move onto the sleaze fest I just described. It means I acknowledged your presence, that's all, nothing more. Believe me when I say that if I am interested in you or what you have to say you will know about it.

Here are a few clues... I might put down what I'm looking at and make eye contact. I might say "Hi, nice day." I might ask how you are. If I do none of these things, I. AM.NOT. INTERESTED. Go the fuck away and leave me the hell alone.

I hope that's clear. Thank you so much for your time and attention. If you think this might help someone you know, feel free to share it. If you think it might help someone who is bothering you and needs to learn this, feel free to print it out, wrap it round a brick and hit them over the head with it (Joking! No, not really, well, okay, yes joking, but you know it would be so satisfying).

I hope all your lives are treating you well,

Bright blessings, Eve :)

Contemporary Christmas?

Hello! Sometimes the most fun ideas come from conversations with friends. I was chatting with my SL twin about an event we're planning for the holiday season and it struck us that there just is not enough holiday themed furniture for those of us who enjoy femdom!

So, a bit of muttering and playing around later, I created the HOLIDAY EDITIONS of the Tempo Armchair. There are three to choose from. Each one is copy only, in a departure from my usual policy, but that is so that I can offer them at a ridiculously low price! So, let's have a look:

So there you have it, choose from Rudolph, a Wreath or Santa and get that Christmas spirit flowing in your space! These are out now in the studio if you would like to check them out (clickable link up on the right there), or if you just can't wait and must have them immediately, have a squint at Marketplace.

I think that's all for now, I hope all your lives are treating you well,

Bright Blessings,

Eve :)

ConTEMPOrary Styling!

Hello again!

I know, I know, it's been less than 3 months, I must be ill. Actually I got inspired, and decided that it was time to revisit the whole idea of a Mistress chair, and the Book Nook was just crying out for a friend, so I made one. Available now either on marketplace, or in world. Of course, you are welcome to toddle along to the studio and try it out to see what you think. See after the pics for the full scoop on everything you need to know about Evelock's newest product:

The Evelock Tempo Armchair is an unashamed Mistress chair designed to fit easily into just about any space. Simple contemporary lines and just enough cushions for comfort combine with a low land impact to make your life easy. Made with use in public spaces in mind, this chair keeps it clean, with nothing beyond a nice cuddle or a gentle tease to see. Ideal for the social areas of a femdom sim where people want to express their relationships without upsetting anyone.

You can copy and modify the chair itself but the scripts and animations are copy only, so your chair will appear "no modify" in your inventory. 2LI at the provided size - resizing is possible but be aware that the Land Impact may well increase if you do, and the animations will need to be adjusted to fit the new size.

A completely plain colourway is included with all versions to allow you to add your own twist by tinting the various parts using the standard edit menu. Have fun, and if you mess up, either click the texture menu to reset, or rezz out a new one from your inventory. The patterned colourways provided are intended to co-ordinate with the Evelock Book Nooks. In the texture menu you will also find an "access" button, use this to control who gets to mess with your textures.

Purchasing a single colour scheme  (350L$ each) will give you 3 texture options:

Checks - All plain, Contrasted Plain and Checks.
Daisies - All plain, Contrasted Plain and Daisies.
Leaves - All plain, Contrasted Plain and Leaves.
Pansies - All plain, Contrasted Plain and Pansies.
Roses - All plain, Contrasted Plain and Roses.

The All Colours option (600L$) contains 7 texture options: All Plain, Contrasted Plain, Checks, Daisies, Leaves, Pansies and Roses.

Please check carefully you have chosen the option you want before purchasing :)

The chair contains 4 menus.

Just Anyone: 8 Solo animations that suit any avatar.
Just Miss: 8 Solo animations that will suit the discerning Mistress who cares about dignity.
Miss & Sub: 8 couple animations that let Miss remind her sub exactly who is in charge.
Snuggles: 8 couple animations along much more romantic lines, for those tender moments.

The solo menus contain a few animations that need props (for example a coffee mug or a book). These will be attached to your avatar (look out for the permissions request) and detached again when you change pose. It makes use of the AVSitter experience, which means that if it's activated on the land, and your avatar has provided permission to the AVSitter experience, all of the attachment stuff will just happen automatically - no muss, no fuss, just relax and enjoy.

Another fabulous feature of the AVSitter system is the ability to easily adjust poses for a perfect fit. When you're happy with the adjusted position, just hit save and the chair will remember your personal setting the next time you sit. Up to 40 avatars' settings can be stored in the chair.

I think that's all the important stuff about this chair, I do hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Bright Blessings

Evelock 5th Birthday Party Pics!

I think we can safely say that Evelock's 5th Birthday Party was a success. All the very best people were there, music was played, dancing was done, and there was just enough mushiness to make it lovely (Happy Anniversary to Anna and Antony!).

I can't thank everyone enough for supporting Evelock, there is no way I would have made it to five years without each and every one of my friends and customers. So, thank you for five wonderful years :)

If you'd like to see what the party looked like, the lovely Antony grabbed some shots during the event and you can find his post on the subject here, including a link to the full album of photos. Here are just a few of my personal favourites:

Happy Birthday to... oh! Evelock!

Hi there!

I frequently lose all track of time, as was evidenced by my not realising it was very nearly Evelock's 5th (FIFTH?!) birthday until my good friend Antony pointed it out. Birthdays mean celebration and joy, and a nagging feeling it was about time I released something new in time for the party.

Party? YES, party! On Saturday 9th July from 3 until 5pm SLT, we will be partying on Evelock's rooftop to celebrate being five whole years old, and you are invited to join us. Why should you care? Well, good question. There will be music and dancing, of course, and a very special offer for 2 hours ONLY on the new release. ONLY in-world, ONLY at the party, and ONLY for 2 hours. You're still wondering why you should care, right?

Okay, the new release is... *drumroll*... a Book Nook. I adore books, I love nothing better than curling up comfortably with a great book and losing a whole day. So it was inevitable that some day I would make something book related, and here it is!

In five colourways (gee, that number 5 keeps cropping up, huh?), it rezzes props for you, it lets you be comfy in 16 different solo ways, with other menus to let you chill with a friend, interact with your sub, snuggle with your sweetie or get steamy with a lover. Little lights built in that simply click on and off, no nasty poseballs, and if you allow the AVSitter experience on your land, you won't be bothered by pesky permission menus.

I think that's enough waffling, wanna see them? Here goes:

I had a whole ton of fun making these, and I hope you enjoy them too. If you'd like to try one out, head over to the main studio location (SLURL just up there on the right). You can obviously get them on marketplace too, BUT... if you can bear to wait until Saturday, you can get one in-world, at the party, HALF PRICE!  Along with the usual free gifts that you really should have collected by now :)

So, that's all for now, I do hope to see you on Saturday for the party... did I mention the party often enough yet? I hope all your lives are treating you well,

Bright Blessings

Eve :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello! Just a quickie today... In celebration of all things romantic, I have put the Tangled Jewellery Set on special offer, until Monday 15th February. It is half price from now until then.

Just head over to the Evelock Studio and look for the golden vendor. The set is only half price in that vendor, in all other vendors it is normal price, so do please be careful.

While you're there, don't forget to pick up your new store gift!

I hope all your lives are treating you well,

Bright Blessings,

Eve :)

It's Spring!

Okay, so it's not actually spring yet, but I did see a glimpse of sunshine for a moment there, and some brave flowers are starting to poke their noses out of the ground, so it can't be far away now. Anyway, it's also very nearly Valentine's Day, which make me feel all happy and stuff, so I made a gift. For everyone. All you have to do is visit the store and click on the box beside the flying pig.

What's the gift? Well, it's the bench that you can see in the photo above, and no, the avatars are not included! The photo was taken at a little pond just outside the Evelock Studio. The pond was put there to recreate a version of the real life environment where Sue and I had our first date, and the bench by the pond (yes, there were dragonflies!) was where we first kissed, so what better place to put a romance inspired gift?

You are very welcome to come and relax at "our bench" any time and see how often the dragonflies buzz you. I hope you enjoy it if you do decide to visit, and please do make sure to check out the Lucky Boards inside the store for more fun freebies.

I think that's about it for now. I hope all your lies are treating you well.

Bright Blessings

Eve :)
